Product Description

Please select today's front page.

Gyeongseong in the 1920s. You are the editor-in-chief of a newspaper in Joseon during the Japanese colonial period.

We review incoming articles and testimonies, and decide what to include, which words to delete, and where to place them on the page.

Every night, a single newspaper is completed in your hands.

※ You can play about half of the full content in the demo.

The sentence you choose becomes a newspaper.

"The Newspaper of the Day" is a historical political simulation adventure where you complete a day's newspaper through reporting, article selection, censorship, and page layout.

A single line or word shakes credibility, impact, and the risk of censorship.

If you resist too much, the Governor-General's office will shut down the newspaper, and if you yield too much, readers will leave.

If you report it, someone is put in danger, and if you remain silent, someone is forgotten.

Between survival and belief, complete just one page every day.

Reporting does not end at the desk.

The reporter goes out to the scene, meets people, gathers testimonies, and accesses hidden facts.

Sometimes a single word in a conversation changes the direction of reporting, and sometimes you must take risks to reach the deeper truth.

The success or failure of the reporting depends on a dice roll involving connections, eloquence, intelligence, and stamina.

Successful reporting produces sharper articles, but an unreasonable approach puts reporters and newspapers at risk.

Sometimes, you have to go directly into the darkness.

Infiltrate while avoiding the police's sight and uncover clues.

As time goes by, surveillance becomes tighter, and a single discovery can bring everything down.

Scoops are designed.

Combine keywords to create a scoop.

We weave together keywords collected over several issues to complete a feature article that shakes the times.

The perspective from which you write and how you package it changes the fate of a newspaper.

Who should be sent?

A newspaper company does not operate alone.

Both the reporter trying to report the truth and the reporter trying to protect the newspaper first create the same page.

Reporters each have their own beliefs and limitations.

If forced to write articles that contradict their beliefs, stress builds up, and a journalist who reaches their limit either collapses or becomes stronger.

Who to send to which incident and which article to assign is the strategy itself.

1945, Your Ending

From 1920 to liberation, accumulated choices lead to various branching outcomes.

The surviving newspapers, the defunct newspapers, the newspapers that remain only in name.

The articles you write determine the final front page.
