■ STORY
You and your friends owe the Boss a lot of money.
The Boss, being a generous man, has offered you a chance to work it off.
The job is simple.
Go to the place where something horrible just happened, and haul out every piece of incriminating evidence before the authorities arrive.
Don't ask who did what.
Of course, something else already lives there.
Get the four of you together, rob the monsters' house, and make it back to the shuttle bus in one piece.
Fail to hit your quota when payday comes around every three days...
and the evidence that you were ever alive disappears too.
■ GAMEPLAY
○ The fear of a narrow view
Trust only what you're looking at.
Whatever is happening behind your back, you can't see.
The map remembers the halls you walked through, but not what walked in after you left.
If you want to be safe, keep turning around and keep the light moving.
○ Together or apart
Split up and search faster, or stick together and move safer.
The mansion is generated fresh every run.
The route you memorized yesterday is worthless today.
Every single time, you learn the guts of the house that's trying to digest you from scratch.
○ Nowhere is safe
Inside the mansion, outdoors, at the shop, even inside the shuttle bus.
Getting out together is ideal, but sometimes you have to leave a friend behind to live.
That's fine. As long as one of you makes it, the rest of you will be back.
○ Clock in, Clock out, Repeat
Finish three days on the job, return to HQ and cash out. Hit the evidence points the Boss asked for and congratulations!
You get to move on to the next assignment.
The next assignment is... bringing back more evidence.
Think you can keep up with a number that only goes up?
■ WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
○ Throw everything
Every piece of evidence in the game can be thrown.
At enemies, at your friends, at nothing in particular.
Hauling, selling and fighting are all done by throwing.
Just be careful, because some evidence breaks.
○ Bloodstains are value itself
Spot an enemy? Throw evidence at it.
Anything that hits a monster comes away stained with blood.
If you can pick it back up while it's lying there beside the thing that stained it, that newly enriched piece of evidence will pay out a whole lot more.
○ 2D Top-Down View
Bring back the friends who gave up on co-op because 3D makes them sick.
We removed motion sickness and heavy controls as barriers to entry, and kept the fear of what you can't see fully intact through the limited-vision system.
