Robo Dream Party

This project began while I was studying game development because I found it amusing to see characters being sent flying far away due to exaggerated physics reactions when attacked. Thinking that such events are unlikely to happen in reality and seem more likely to occur in a dream, I added plausibility to the strangely functioning physics laws by setting it up as a "robot's dream." My goal is to create a lighthearted, comedy-toned party game to enjoy with friends. When a round begins, objects appear randomly throughout the map, and players must grab them and swing or throw them to push opponents off the map. The last player remaining wins the round.

Product Description

Robo Dream Party

A chaotic party where the laws of physics are broken in a robot's dream

This is a casual party game for 2 to 8 people to enjoy together.

Pick up objects scattered on the map and push each other off the map until you are the only one left.

■ The Game's Appeal

● The laws of physics work differently every time

Whenever you pick up or swing an object, there is a certain probability that an unrealistic physics effect will be applied.

The stick, which usually just lightly pushes the opponent, suddenly sends the opponent flying far away on the screen.

Conversely, the effect lands on me, and while trying to attack, I get flung away and end up hanging from the edge of a cliff.

Even if you swing the same object in the same spot, the result changes. That is why every round is new.

● The tables can turn at any time.

The person who was ahead just moments ago swings an object incorrectly and gets sent flying.

Since there is no health bar or skill tree, it is difficult to know the outcome until the very last moment, even if there is a difference in skill.

Even the person who caught it first can send someone out of the map in the second round.

● The way you fight varies depending on your weapon.

The attack changes depending on the item you are holding.

  · One-handed weapon

The pushing force is weak, but if you hit three times, the opponent drops the object they are holding.

It is suitable for a playstyle where you start by disarming first.

  · Two-handed weapon

The pushing force is strong, so it can send you off the map in one hit.

Instead, if you miss, it is that much more dangerous.

  · Throw

Use this to keep an eye on opponents from a distance or to target those trying to escape.

  · Bare-handed punch

It is a last resort when you have lost your weapon.

● It is also fun to watch.

It’s not boring even if you get eliminated first. Watching the remaining people fly off in unexpected ways is also part of the fun of this game.

Each round lasts 1 to 2 minutes, so even if you are eliminated, the next round starts soon.

■ Story

This is a dream that a robot is having.

Because it is a dream, the laws of physics do not work properly.

With a single swing of a light stick, a person is sent flying off-screen, and I, who swung with all my might, am instead flung away by the recoil.

The security robot patrolling the map has suddenly become a vehicle you can ride, and

As time passes, obstacles start flying in from somewhere.

None of these things would happen in reality. Because it is a dream.

■ Elements

● Player Robot

The protagonist runs around in a dream. They have no special abilities.

It is all about what you hold in your hand and how the physics of that moment works.

● Robot Vehicles

It is a robot that roams the map. Originally a patrol security robot, it becomes a vehicle when a player climbs onto it.

  · When mounted, you will not be pushed back by most attacks, and your movement speed will increase.

  · Only one person can ride at a time. First come, first served.

  · It is not invincible. It is pushed back by large swings of two-handed weapons.

  · Unridden robot vehicles act as obstacles, chasing and attacking specific players on their own.

● Object

These are items that appear randomly throughout the map.

From sticks to robot fish, physical reactions differ depending on the shape.

In the future, attributes such as ice and electricity will be attached depending on the form.

■ Producer's Comment

While studying game development, I found the sight of a character flying exaggeratedly after being hit by an attack to be fun in itself.

It was interesting that the awkwardness actually became a source of humor, considering that you can't fly like that in reality.

From the thought that "something that doesn't happen in reality but is likely to happen in a dream"

The setting of a robot's dream was introduced.

By adding a worldview where the laws of physics operate strangely because it is a dream, the exaggerated reactions gained a certain degree of plausibility.

The goal was simple from the start: a lighthearted, comedy-toned party game to enjoy with friends.

Rather than a game where the skilled player always wins, where the game is turned around by a ridiculous single move

I wanted to create a game that makes everyone laugh together.

Currently, we have implemented the rules for the last man standing brawl, and we are preparing the following content for the future.

  · Ice/Electric attribute attack

Frozen opponents remain suspended in the air and fall the moment they are thawed,

Electric shock spreads to other nearby players.

  · Death Cam

Even after being eliminated, it allows you to switch between spectator cameras throughout the map to watch from a good vantage point.

  · Camera improvements

Refine the handling when the view is obstructed by walls or pillars.

  · Option Maintenance

Korean/English support, screen/resolution/volume settings, change key settings.

  · New rules and cooperative mode

We are preparing a mode where multiple players cooperate to find items and escape the map.

There is still a lot to refine, but if you play just one round, you will understand what kind of fun this game is aiming for.

I think it will be conveyed right away.

One round takes 1 to 2 minutes. Enjoy a quick game.
